Treating varicose veins

Varicose veins are due to a weakness in the walls of these blood vessels, which causes them to expand. Sclerotherapy is considered the treatment of choice for getting rid of varicose veins and improving appearance.

The treatment consists in injecting Sclerodex – a mild solution designed to shrink blood vessels – into the veins. This is a fairly painless procedure.

In some cases, varicose veins may return following therapy or new varicose veins may develop. If so, patients may elect to repeat the treatment.
